The job involves performing routine and emergency CT imaging examinations, reviewing requisitions, and selecting appropriate equipment and techniques to differentiate pathologic from normal anatomy while adhering to safety protocols and hospital policies. It also includes engaging with patients and families to provide explanations and support, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and pursuing ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine CT imaging examinations on both scheduled and emergency bases.
- Review and evaluate requisitions for CT imaging procedures, including interpreting data from patient charts to assess the appropriateness of the procedures.
- Provide explanations about the imaging examination to patients and their parents, addressing questions regarding the exam and radiation exposure while adhering to ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation safety principles.
- Identify and report any equipment malfunctions to ensure operational integrity.
- Follow departmental quality control and data integrity workflows.
- Comply with HIPAA regulations and the hospital’s core values, including excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability.
Qualifications
Education
Associates degree in Allied Health. Bachelors degree preferred
License/Certification
- RT/CT registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT)
- Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification
- BLS certification.
Experience
One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist required
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
