The Staff Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Providing family-centered nursing care to patients of all ages from newborn to young adulthood in our fast-paced General Surgery Clinic in Boston and Waltham.l
  • Assessing, planning, and implementing care for complex surgical patient populations
  • Providing a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing
  • Maintaining a safe environment
  • Providing education to patients and families
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary General Surgery Clinic team including clinical assistants, nurse practitioners, physicians, residents, fellows, and physician assistants as well as other multidisciplinary colleagues to provide streamlined, comprehensive, and supportive care
  • Assisting in the coordination of patient care services with other disciplines within the healthcare system
  • Following-up with patients and families to evaluate progress after treatment changes and surgical procedures
  • Performing triage, care coordination, and addressing DME needs of patients
  • Adhering to the Board of Registration in Nursing rules and regulations, ANA scope of standards of pediatric nursing and code of ethics for nursing and other regulatory stipulations
  • Performing duties of a scribe when needed. Providing documentation, gathering information for the patient’s visit, and partnering with the physician to deliver the pinnacle of efficient patient care.
  • Working 20 hours per week 2 10 hour shifts, rotating days Monday through Friday.

To qualify you must have:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • At least 2 years of pediatric nursing or surgical inpatient experience
  • Current Massachusetts RN license
  • BLS certification
