Through the creation of the Innovation and Digital Health Accelerator (IDHA), Boston Children’s reinforces a commitment to, and investment in pediatric innovation. We are combining our data, clinical expertise, and health care technology development experience, with leading worldwide industry partners – including start-ups – to transform health care. We work to surface, support and accelerate Boston Children’s innovations for the purpose of improving pediatric care. Today, there is a new level of investment and urgency behind accelerating innovations and expanding our reach globally.
The Product Manager role would be on the Innovation team within IDHA.
Innovation
The Innovation team is a cross-functional team that builds and partners with early-stage digital health products/companies. Internally, the Innovation team develops and/or deploys emerging technology solutions with potential for impact within BCH. The team also leverages knowledge and expertise from the enterprise to (co)incubate novel digital health technologies with strong commercial potential. In addition to internal efforts, the team participates in other Accelerator programs, like MassChallenge Health Tech and KidsX. Through this work, the Accelerator builds strong relationships with innovative startups, investors, and industry leaders alike.
The Product Manager would oversee and manage the research, design, build, and maintenance of new digital products within the Innovation team. New products are selected based on alignment with emerging tech strategy, BCH needs, and/or commercial potential. Additional responsibilities of the Product Manager may include conducting market research, generating product requirements, determining product specifications, conducting user interviews and user testing, setting production timetables, and providing general product and technical strategy advice to Boston Children’s innovators interested in building new digital health products.
The Product Manager will be responsible for:
- Conducts end user/customer interviews and works with clinical and subject matter experts to understand end user needs and design product components/definitions that translate business needs, customer needs, and technological capabilities into features and enhancements.
- Coordinates cross-functional teams to produce product specifications, establish milestones, and manage the development, implementation, and maintenance/prioritization of enhancements to products in portfolio.
- Develops recommendations to leadership on the prioritization of the overall product roadmap. Reviews current product workflows and integrates new technologies and enhancements into product development cycle.
- Monitors and communicates product status, key issues and launch plans to key stakeholders.
- Measures product performance and identifies key levers of improvement. Develops recommendations for improving products.
- Works closely with Innovation leadership and clinical stakeholders to identify opportunities for new products, process improvements related to the product lifecycle, and/or gaps in core product functionality.
In order to qualify, you must have:
- Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years’ experience supporting digital products.
- Experience driving change and consensus across organizations; comfortable leading through influence
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Highly organized
- Strong analytical problem solver
- Effective communicator (verbal and written)
- Strong technical experience and experience developing new digital products
- Work requires the highest level of customer service and quality in all interactions and transactions.
