This Biostatistician II will be responsible for…

  • Providing statistical expertise on the design of study protocols, case report forms and databases.
  • Developing statistical aspects of study design, including sample size calculations and randomization schemes.
  • Working with investigators and other statisticians to select appropriate statistical methods and to analyze data, including identifying data inconsistencies from laboratory, interventional, and observational studies.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of and proficiency in working with standard statistical packages (e.g., SAS, R, Stata, SPSS) and learning other project-specific software. Code is accurate, efficient, well-commented, and organized.
  • Participating in meetings with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful completion of statistical deliverables.
  • Preparing statistical reports and collaborating with the study team to prepare abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Understanding the necessity to be responsive to and communicate effectively with colleagues and study team members whether by phone, email, or in person. Communicating appropriately, timely, and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Being able to understand the objectives of a study and ensure that the statistical design matches the overall goals of the study.

To qualify you must have…

  • Three (3) years of experience.
  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a closely related field.
  • Experience in statistical programming (e.g. SAS, Stata, or SPSS)
  • Strong analytical skills to resolve scientific, clinical, or administrative problems that require innovative application of the highest levels of specialized knowledge.
  • The ability to handle multiple problems and projects at one time, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all projects, and dealing with conflicting views or issues and mediating fair and workable solutions is critical.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Solid interpersonal, educational, and leadership skills are required in order to effectively train and mentor research project staff, and data analytics staff.
