The Systems Administrator I provides general System Management for the Hospital’s computer operating systems. Installs and maintains operating system software and third party layered products.

The Systems Administrator I will be responsible for:

  • Performing system management activities for current and future computer systems, related hardware, software, and networking components.
  • Executing system group activities in alignment with established departmental goals.
  • Recording performance statistics and providing performance tuning and systems security.
  • Participating in hardware and software upgrades as needed.
  • Adhering to new approaches, policies, and procedures to drive continual improvements in the operations of computer hardware and system software.
  • Assisting with the evaluation of current and projected demands for services, as well as current and future state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions.
  • Conducting product evaluations and trials to enhance the productivity of existing equipment, staff time, and software systems.
  • Coordinating and maintaining communication links, data interdependencies, and Production Jobs’ relationships across various operating systems and hardware platforms.
  • Following problem resolution and escalation procedures, responding to all operating system problems, resolving them in a timely manner, and seeking assistance when required.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Associate’s Degree is required in the field of computer science or a closely related field.
  • 3 years of directly related experience is required.
  • Analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth, experienced based cross functional knowledge
  • Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well developed writing skills.
