The Systems Administrator I will be responsible for:
- Performing system management activities for current and future computer systems, related hardware, software, and networking components.
- Executing system group activities in alignment with established departmental goals.
- Recording performance statistics and providing performance tuning and systems security.
- Participating in hardware and software upgrades as needed.
- Adhering to new approaches, policies, and procedures to drive continual improvements in the operations of computer hardware and system software.
- Assisting with the evaluation of current and projected demands for services, as well as current and future state-of-the-art hardware and software solutions.
- Conducting product evaluations and trials to enhance the productivity of existing equipment, staff time, and software systems.
- Coordinating and maintaining communication links, data interdependencies, and Production Jobs’ relationships across various operating systems and hardware platforms.
- Following problem resolution and escalation procedures, responding to all operating system problems, resolving them in a timely manner, and seeking assistance when required.
To qualify, you must have:
- Associate’s Degree is required in the field of computer science or a closely related field.
- 3 years of directly related experience is required.
- Analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth, experienced based cross functional knowledge
- Communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well developed writing skills.
