Boston Children’s Hospital’s Department of Emergency Medicine provides 24-hour care to infants, children and young adults with urgent and emergency medical, surgical and traumatic conditions, ranging from brain injuries to broken bones.
We accept all Emergency Department (ED) patients from birth through 21 years of age. Caring for 68,000 patients with emergency medical needs each year, our ED is one of the largest emergency/trauma centers in New England and the largest pediatric ED in Massachusetts. We serve as a Level I Regional Pediatric Trauma Center, and we house the Regional Center for Poison Control and Prevention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working in a fast-paced, Level 1 Trauma Center with patients with trauma-related, surgical and medical illnesses of varying levels of acuity and complexity.
- 36 hours nights and every other weekend.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Experience:
- A minimum of 1 years of inpatient acute RN experience. ED experience (pedi preferred) or any acute pediatric experience, strongly preferred.
- The ability to work in collaboration with emergency medicine physicians, nurses, mid-level providers and administrative staff is essential.
- The analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experience-based knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills.
Licensure/ Certifications:
- Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse (RN)
