ESD Asst – OR-FT Overnight Shift 11pm-730am every other wknd/holidays

This Environmental Services Assistant – OR is responsible to:

• Respond to direction or pages to clean O.R.s to ensure timely turnover of Operating/Procedures Rooms. Perform between case cleaning in accordance with department/hospital standards ensuring that the OR or Procedure Room is sterile, clean and safe for use. Clean and sanitize O.R. surfaces including procedure tables, equipment and floors in according to procedures

• Wash and decontaminate equipment as assigned including tubes and their canisters from operating rooms or cardiac procedure rooms according to established procedures and instructions

• Perform periodic terminal cleaning in accordance with departmental/hospital procedures as directed. Terminal Cleaning includes removing all portable equipment from the room and detach removable objects, clean lighting and air duct surfaces and all surfaces down to and including the floor

• Collect and dispose trash, soiled linen and recyclable materials. Replace receptacle liners and recycling collection totes

• Clean horizontal and vertical surfaces; dust, damp wiping, spot cleaning of vents, light fixtures, window ledges, door surfaces, etc.

• Clean restrooms, fixtures, replenish restroom supplies (paper goods, hand soap, etc.).

• Clean and maintain facilities and equipment in assigned area including water fountains, walls, windows, furniture, I.V. poles, baseboards, wheelchairs, toys and glassware

• Change curtains, draperies, blinds, and shades as assigned

• Remove soiled linens/protective coverings (paper), clean and remake beds, stretchers, exam tables, etc.

To qualify, you must have:

• An understanding of and ability to perform hospital cleaning procedures typically requiring a min of 3 months of exp cleaning in a patient care setting. Demonstrated competency in Operating/Procedure Room cleaning protocols is required

• The skills to read and understand instructions in English, add and subtract numbers, and make comparisons between numbers and letters

• The ability to understand and respond to written or verbal instructions. Incumbents must respond appropriately to instructions, questions or requests for information. Requires contact with patients and/or visitors which involves courtesy

• The ability to complete hospital provided training and timely annual recertification in ESD O.R. cleaning procedures

Schedule: Monday-Friday (11pm-730am every other weekend/holidays)
