In this role you will assist physician during procedures by positioning and holding patients during laser, biopsies, excisions, phototherapy, injections, or testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Position patients and obtain photographic images as directed by physician.
- Develop, label, and document images at the completion of the procedure.
- Assist nurses and physicians obtain prior authorizations for special procedures
- Prepare patient and room for procedures. Sets up and arrange instruments, prepare procedure kits, and label the specimen taken.
- Document, report, or deliver any specialty labs done in clinic.
- Prepare microscope with specimen slides and document for physician viewing.
- Oversee regulatory guidelines of equipment. Schedule and notify Biomed when preventative maintenance is due, staff orientation, and record keeping.
- Monitor inventory and identify and report items to be reordered.
- Clean and organize exam room at completion of examinations.
- Collect and prepare specimen and other data and paper recordings for physician.
- Explain examination procedure to patients/parents and answer questions within the scope of knowledge and authority.
- Perform and record measurement of heights and weights.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma/GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience:
- One year of clinical, lab, or related experience preferred
