Position Summary:
Provides clinical expertise in school systems, IEP process and in-depth knowledge in community-based resources specific to the Autism Spectrum Center. Consultation to Clinical Team both inpatient and outpatient. Providing culturally informed content empathically with a diversity, equity and inclusion lenses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivers clinical consultations and educational interventions to patients and families, assessing their needs and providing tailored support, including connections to external resources and support groups.
  • Collaborates with healthcare teams to develop, implement, and evaluate patient and family education programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and current healthcare trends.
  • Creates and maintains educational materials such as guides, brochures, and informational packets, ensuring they are relevant, accessible, and culturally sensitive.
  • Engages with the community and schools, serving as a liaison for autism-related outreach, supporting Behavioral Neurology, Developmental Medicine and Psychiatry, and providing public education on autism spectrum disorders.
  • Monitors and evaluates health education initiatives for effectiveness and relevance, incorporating feedback and emerging technologies to enhance program quality.
  • Supports professional development by fostering growth opportunities for self and colleagues, and by functioning as a collaborative member of both hospital and community health teams.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology or related field required

Experience:

  • Up to 2 years of professional experience with pediatric patients and families required
