Under the direction of the Director, performs a broad scope of business operations functions encompassing both financial and human resource activities. Provides support on matters of billing, payroll, administrative procedures, budgets, and personnel either through direct action, advice or as liaison with other managers as appropriate.
Key responsibilities
- Oversees daily administrative and financial functions, including billing, payroll, budgeting, personnel, and policy compliance; serves as liaison to analysts and managers.
- Manages clinical and administrative budgets, ensures policy adherence, develops proposals, and prepares capital budgets with senior staff.
- Provides administrative support to leadership, acts as liaison across departments and organizations, and participates on the unit’s leadership team.
- Collaborates with department leaders on program development and implementation, business planning, and resource allocation to meet strategic goals.
- Directs supply and equipment inventory management, facilities coordination, and purchase approvals within budget constraints.
- Develops systems to track productivity, revenue, outcomes, and satisfaction; conducts analysis and reporting to drive performance improvement.
- Serves as liaison between the department and hospital services, representing the department on task forces and providing expert-level administrative support.
- May supervise and manage administrative staff, handling hiring, training, performance reviews, merit increases, and workflow coordination.
Minimum qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business administration, health care administration or closely related field, Master’s degree preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of three years relevant experience
- Analytical skills necessary to resolve problems requiring a professional level of knowledge in a specific discipline/field and/or improve enhance or upgrade complex clinical, financial, data processing, marketing or human resources systems and programs.
- Ability to effectively manage the employees within assigned unit/department and to persuade and negotiate with peer level managers on issues and programs that impact assigned unit/department. Work requires effectively dealing with conflicting views or issues and mediating fair and workable solutions.
- Ability to work independently and use skills of judgment and inquiry to consistently support and advance overall programmatic and hospital goals and initiatives.
