The Allergy and Asthma Program at Boston Children’s Hospital is part of the Division of Immunology. The program evaluates children with all types of allergy problems.
We are also experts in treatment of asthma, which is caused by allergies in approximately two-thirds of children with asthma. Pulmonary function testing, which measures lung function, is available for children 6 and older with respiratory issues. Our providers are experts in designing a treatment plan to allow children with asthma to participate in all activities and prevent exacerbations.
Key responsibilities:
- Working in busy Boston and satellite Allergy practices with a patient population with wide variety of health care needs including asthma, food allergies, environmental allergens, eczema, and immunodeficiency.
- Communicating with patients, families and health care providers.
- Administering allergy shots, testing for medication allergies, phone triage, working with patients with food challenges.
- Working 20 hours/week -M-F, (2) 10 hour shifts. Rotation to 1-2 satellites/week (2 Brookline Place and Waltham). Opportunity to work 1 Saturday morning/month (not mandatory but encouraged).
Minimum qualifications:
Education:
- BSN degree.
Experience:
- Prefer experience with injections.
- 1 year nursing experience required. Experience with pediatrics and allergy preferred.
