Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Serves as principal administrator responsible for the management and strategic development of clinical research administrative functions. Oversees administrative operations; budgets; billing; and compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulatory policies and procedures. Strategizes with PIs, senior management, Associate Chief for Clinical Research, and staff to achieve programmatic goals; measures and tracks effectiveness of research programmatic efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assists in establishing departmental policies and procedures related to clinical research.a. Evaluates, initiates, and implements departmental policies, procedures, and systems and revises as necessary to maximize efficiency, consistency, and equity across the department.
    • Serves as resource for resolution of clinical research administrative questions/issues/problems.
  • Partners with PIs and senior managers to develop, execute and monitor strategic planning for neurology foundation clinical research and advancement of BCH corporate goals.
  • Facilitates and/or coordinates special projects in neurology clinical research at the discretion of senior staff.
  • Participates in hospital task forces and committees related to clinical research.
  • Conducts staff and physician faculty meetings to disseminate information and solicit input from all staff related to policies and procedures and day-to-day operations.
  • In coordination with ISD, supports interface between clinical research and departmental information systems:
    • Explores, evaluates, and implements new technologies and develops departmental information systems resources as appropriate for clinical research.
  • Prepares and presents various statistical reports, cost analyses, and budget justifications relating to clinical research in neurology.
  • Collaborates with the Associate Chief for Clinical Research and PIs on research mission and financial oversight of research and projects.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree is required.

Experience:

  • 10 years of previous experience in Research Operational Management.
  • Analytical skills necessary to resolve problems requiring a professional level of knowledge in a specific discipline/field and/or improve, enhance or upgrade complex clinical, financial, data processing, marketing, or human resources systems and programs.
  • Ability to effectively manage employees within the assigned unit/department and to persuade and negotiate with peer-level managers on issues and programs that impact assigned unit/department.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively dealing with conflicting views or issues and mediating fair and workable solutions

Licensure/ Certifications:

  • Certificate of Research Administration (CRA) Preferred.
