This position will work with the Senior Director of Project Management and Construction, taking primary responsibility on a combination of research and clinical projects, supporting the hospitals mission of providing world class patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage hospital construction and renovation projects in a range of $500,000 to $25 million
  • Oversee and work with architects and engineering consultants, and vendors on planning, design, and implementation, ensuring conformance with hospital and regulatory standards
  • Serve as Project Manager for designated projects and oversee contractors, supervising all aspects of project, including reviewing and monitoring costs against budget and establishing and maintaining completion schedules
  • Prepare cost estimates, schedules, correspondence, contracts, and purchase requisitions for assigned projects
  • Maintain system documentation. Monitor and maintain drawings, RFIs, submittals, and all pertinent project correspondence
  • Coordinate/monitor construction progress on a daily basis. Inspect and coordinate construction, commissioning, telecommunication, security, data processing, furniture, moving requirements, signage, art, and landscaping
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards. Maintain compliance documentation in accordance with department policy and procedure
  • Provide Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) manager project information for their database
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of major infrastructure and maintenance of Hospital facilities and systems

Education & Experience requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related field min 5 years of relatable experience is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Construction Supervisor License preferred
  • The analytical skills to resolve scientific, clinical, HR, legal, financial, or admin problems that require the innovative application of the highest levels of specialized knowledge and/or develop financial and operating plans for one of the hospital’s major depts/divisions
  • The ability to effectively manage the projects within assigned dept/division and to persuade and negotiate with peer-level department heads and/or with external agencies/facilities on issues and programs that impact assigned dept as well as several other large areas
