Position Summary:
Works independently in a senior technician role by providing guidance and support to new and less experienced technicians. Performs and follows all established procedures according to AAMI, AORN and SGNA standards. Effectively maintains inventory of complex, delicate endoscopic equipment and related component parts. Monitors and/or perform specialized cleaning and decontamination and inspects, assembles and prepares equipment for surgical cases. Performs and/or arranges maintenance and repair services and serves as a resource on equipment use and operation. Tracks and maintains inventory, reordering supplies, monitoring purchase and repair costs and assisting in selection and introduction of new supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees endoscopy tech assignments, ensuring appropriate case assignments and providing training/support for less experienced staff.
  • Ensures availability and proper processing of sterile endoscopic instruments for surgical cases, including specialized cleaning and assembly.
  • Calibrates, maintains, and troubleshoots specialized motility and endoscopic equipment, coordinating repairs or substitutions as needed.
  • Serves as a technical resource for audiovisual and endoscopic equipment operation, assisting with setup and resolving equipment issues.
  • Manages ordering, restocking, and inventory of endoscopic supplies, ensuring compliance with par levels and resolving delivery or packaging issues.
  • Maintains detailed records of inventory, purchasing, and repairs; handles invoice verification and payment processing.
  • Monitors and reconciles supply and equipment expenses against the budget, identifying variances and contributing to annual budget preparation.


Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • High School/GED required

Experience:

  • 3 Years of related experience with at least one year as Endoscopy Technician.

Licensure/ Certifications:

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) OR Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required
  • Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) required

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
