Brief Overview
Physician Assistant Opening in Plastic and Oral Surgery Department supporting Plastic Surgeons and Oral and Maxillofacial (OMFS) Surgeons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive healthcare services to patients of all ages and with all types of conditions
- Elicit histories, perform examinations, perform and interpret diagnostic studies
- Perform therapeutic procedures, instruct and counsel patients about their diagnosis
- Respond to clinical needs, and facilitate the appropriate referral of patients, consistent with his or her supervising physician’s scope of expertise and responsibility and delegated to him/her by the supervising physician
- Perform and/or assist with intravenous sedations in the office-based setting
- Provide all aspects of pre-operative and post-operative care, as well as first or second assisting during surgery
- Working mainly in the Boston and Waltham locations with the possibility of travel to other satellite locations.
- Schedule is 40 hours per week: 4, 10-hour shifts Monday through Friday
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Masters in Physician Assistant Studies
Experience:
- The knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of an accredited Physician Assistant’s program
- The analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific, or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experience-based knowledge
- Strong communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and medicated fair solutions, and well-developed writing skills
- A strong interest in and understanding of the Plastic and Oral Surgery disciplines strongly preferred
Licensure/ Certifications:
- A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as a Physician Assistant.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
