The Department of Pediatric Surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital provides general and specialized surgical services to infants, children, and adolescents with a wide range of congenital and acquired conditions.
As one of the largest pediatric surgery programs in the country, we care for nearly 10,000 outpatients and perform more than 2,300 surgical procedures each year. Our team works collaboratively with you to design a plan of treatment appropriate to your child’s condition and unique circumstances.
The Department of Pediatric Surgery strives to provide premier clinical care to children in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Whether for a common condition or highly complex illness, our goal is to restore the health, function, and well-being of every patient we treat.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing family-centered nursing care to patients of all ages from newborn to young adulthood in our fast-paced General Surgery Clinic in Boston
- Assessing, planning, and implementing care for complex surgical patient populations
- Providing education to patients and families
- Collaborating with an interdisciplinary General Surgery Clinic team including clinical assistants, nurse practitioners, physicians, residents, fellows, and physician assistants as well as other multidisciplinary colleagues to provide streamlined, comprehensive, and supportive care
- Assisting in the coordination of patient care services with other disciplines within the healthcare system
- Following-up with patients and families to evaluate progress after treatment changes and surgical procedures
- Performing triage, care coordination, and addressing DME needs of patients
- Rotation between Boston and Waltham clinics.
Minimum qualifications:
Education:
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Experience:
- At least 2 years of pediatric nursing or surgical inpatient experience
License/certification:
- Current Massachusetts RN license
- BLS certification
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
