Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Operational Manager, the Sterile Supply Transporter is responsible for delivering sterile instruments from the Sterile Processing Department to the Clinic locations within the hospital. The Sterile Supply Transporter demonstrates efficiency and productivity in transporting necessary equipment in a timely and appropriate manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport sterile and soiled instruments, supplies, and equipment between the Sterile Processing Department (SPD), hospital departments, and clinics while following safety policies and proper body mechanics.
- Load, unload, assemble, and organize instruments, trays, and carts, including unloading the cart washer and storing items in correct locations.
- Deliver sterile instruments and put away supplies, trays, and equipment promptly to support clinical workflow.
- Document daily operational checks for sterilization equipment and maintain accurate instrument tracking through routine scanning in the SPM database.
- Break down canceled cases and return instruments and supplies as needed.
- Perform additional assigned duties to support SPD operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
One year of experience in Health Care Industry or Warehouse with prior customer service experience.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
