This position will work within the Division of Infectious Diseases supporting multiple labs within this group. This position will be responsible for cleaning and sterilizing of glassware and other lab supplies.
Research in the Division of Infectious Diseases includes both basic investigation and clinical research. The bench research in the division has the broad objective of elucidating basic mechanisms of microbial pathogenesis and the related host responses that mediate susceptibility to infection, host injury, and protective immunity. Investigation targets viral, bacterial, fungal, and parasitic pathogens of major significance in community acquired infections in the United States, in infections of immunocompromised hosts, and in global public health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly cleans and sterilizes glassware and other instruments.
- Inventories and orders supplies to ensure the lab and facility are appropriately stocked.
- Familiarizes incoming research personnel with the sterile procedures and autoclaving equipment utilized in the Department.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma/ GED is required.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Laboratory Assistant is preferred.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
