Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Maintains inventory of specialized surgical supplies and equipment for assigned services. Monitors usage, establishes inventory par levels and orders and restocks needed items. Arranges and monitors equipment maintenance and repair services. Maintains records, monitors purchase and repair costs and assists in selection and introduction of new supplies and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitors and maintains surgical supply inventories (including implants, devices, and tables), ensuring availability for scheduled cases and adjusting par levels as needed.
  • Oversees ordering, receiving, inspecting, and verifying supplies; resolves discrepancies with Purchasing and vendors.
  • Distributes, restocks, and organizes inventory in storage areas, ensuring proper rotation, packaging, and labeling of supplies.
  • Maintains records of inventory, purchasing, repairs, and billing; reconciles expenses and supports annual budget preparation.
  • Oversees maintenance and repair of surgical equipment, performing minor fixes and coordinating vendor or department services as needed.
  • Assists with evaluation and introduction of new equipment and supplies, providing expertise on sourcing, cost, and usage; participates in related committees and projects.


Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED required

Experience:

  • One year of Supply Management experience required.
  • Up to one year of basic technical training in Surgical Technology or related field preferred.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
