Overseeing and managing technical IT staff, manages on-premises and cloud-based server environments, and ensures alignment with business, security, and compliance requirements. Core responsibilities encompass strategic and capacity planning, team leadership, systems management, performance monitoring, vendor management, and process improvement initiatives. In addition to technical leadership, this role is responsible for setting priorities, optimizing resource utilization, fostering team development, and partnering with cross-functional teams to support enterprise projects, infrastructure modernization initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads team and schedules day-to-day activities. Provides work direction, career development and performance reviews. Responsible for staffing during normal hours.
- Leads team in administration and processing of all problems. Ensures that issues are responded to and resolved appropriately in a timely manner.
- Resolves the more complex problems, escalated by staff and provides direct assistance to end user. Functions as a liaison to other Hospital groups for ISD staff, when needed.
- Recommends and implements procedural changes and improvements to the ever-changing technological environment making it more efficient and responsive to end-user needs.
- Provides status reports and feedback to management. Interacts closely with other Hospital departments to better serve the end user community.
- Demonstrates and maintains a broad in-depth knowledge of supported software, related system requirements. Recommends new technology as appropriate.
- Trains new staff in daily operations and procedures of the department. Participates in and helps coordinates end-user trainings. Schedules staff for appropriate trainings.

- Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of a support, production, or operations teams
- Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors
- Decisions and problem-solving are guided by policies, procedures, and business plan; receives guidance and oversight from manager
- Typically, does not spend more than 20% of time performing the work supervised
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree- Computer Science Programming
Experience
- 3 years of managing people/leadership experience
- 5-10 years of total IT experiences
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
