We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a full-time (Chemistry) Research Assistant position in the Translational Research Lab (TRL) in the Department of Cardiology at Boston Children’s Hospital. We are an interdisciplinary research team developing new technologies including injectable oxygen therapies and nanomaterials for imaging and therapeutic applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform material synthesis, fabrication and Characterizations.
- Perform material testing by conducting in vitro assays.
- Document and analyze experimental results. Troubleshoot experimental procedures.
- Lab upkeeping responsibility, including maintaining inventories and purchasing supplies, attending monthly lab support and safety meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree in chemistry, Materials or Biological Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or closely related field is preferred.
Experience:
- Prior research experience in a wet lab including materials synthesis, formulation, and fabrication is preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- The ability to accurately carry out protocols with an emphasis on attention to details, and good record keeping.
- Open-mindedness, good communicational, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Willingness and curiosity to learn new skills and unfamiliar techniques.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
