Position Summary:
The Clinical Research Assistant will work primarily as part of the Boston Center for Endometriosis research team in the Division of Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital, as well as on other studies of women’s health.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact research participants via phone, email, and mail
- Manage confidential data and maintain multiple Access and REDCap databases, including data entry and data cleaning
- Prepare and update study documents for the Investigational Review Board
- Contribute to the development of study materials, newsletters, website content, and social media presence of the research studies
- Work collaboratively with a team of research staff, data managers, and principal investigators to manage and run multiple studies
- General maintenance of the Biorepository, including monitoring supplies and general lab organization
- Participate in the preparation of previously collected frozen samples for biochemical analyses at outside labs, including aliquoting, labeling, and shipping
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Life Science
Experience
- Strong interest in gynecology/women’s health
- The position requires excellent organizational skills in order to formulate, implement, and monitor a number of interrelated tasks
- The ability to pay strict attention to detail on a continuous basis to ensure that research results are valid and error-free
- Excellent interpersonal and writing skills are necessary in order to communicate and interact effectively with individuals from various fields of expertise and various levels of experiences, as well as with study participants, and administrative and technical staff
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, REDCap, Microsoft Access and/or SAS desirable
- Lab training is provided but familiarity with basic lab practices and comfort handling bio specimens is preferred
- Ability to lift 40lb freezer racks is essential
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
