Position Summary
As an Intake Coordinator, you would play a vital role in this expansion by serving as a key point of connection for families at the start of their care journey. Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and triage appointments for new behavioral health patients, coordinating with clinicians, families, and clinic locations in accordance with departmental guidelines
- Screen referrals and patient needs, assigning cases to appropriate clinicians and supporting case management workflows
- Collect, verify, and enter patient demographic, referral, and behavioral health insurance information into EPIC
- Verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and review benefits, copays, and out-of-pocket costs with caregivers
- Screen patients for service appropriateness and escalate clinical or logistical concerns as needed
- Distribute and track electronic intake forms and manage waitlists
- Answer, screen, and route phone calls; de-escalate families in crisis and triage urgent requests
- Monitor and respond to electronic communications from families and clinicians
- Create patient registrations and appointment requests in EPIC
- Support front-desk Patient Experience Representative functions as needed, including check-in and waiting room monitoring
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary OPS team members to support patient care goals and promote a team-oriented environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including support during public health emergencies
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- At least one year of experience in a healthcare, administrative, or patient-facing role preferred

- M-F: 40 hours/week. 100% in person
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
