Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants/Associates (PAs) at Boston Children’s are essential partners in delivering world-class care. Working closely with our physician colleagues, our Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) provide exceptional, patient-centered healthcare grounded in exceptional clinical expertise, adaptability, and a passion for lifelong learning.
Known for their dedication, teamwork, and “can-do” spirit, our APPs teams go beyond bedside care—they lead independent clinics, drive quality improvement efforts, and contribute to research, education, and hospital operations. Many also take on leadership roles, helping shape the future of pediatric medicine while mentoring and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals. At Boston Children’s, being an APP isn’t just a role—it’s a commitment to excellence, innovation, and making a lasting difference every single day.

A supportive, dynamic community
At Boston Children’s, APPs thrive in a strong culture of collaboration and support. From PA & NP Week Celebrations and Grand Rounds to recognition awards and committees, there are many ways to stay connected, recognized, and involved.
You’ll also find a wide variety of practice settings—from ICUs and inpatient consult roles to ambulatory care, procedural areas, virtual visits, and satellites. We welcome Certified Physician Assistants and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses including PNP-PC, PNP-AC, and FNPs, across departments.

A place to grow your career
As a teaching hospital, learning is part of our DNA. APPs here have access to world-class resources including a robust simulation center, medical journals, and hospital-wide seminars and conferences. Many also serve as preceptors for students and mentors for new hires.
We’re proud to support future clinicians through partnerships with top clinical programs, our PA Student Pediatrics Interest Group, and hands-on opportunities for continued learning through structured fellowships.
