The Clinical Coordinator (RN) will be responsible for:

  • Planning, organizing and overseeing daily clinical and administrative operations for the ED.
  • Assisting with planning and instituting operational improvements in the ED.
  • Preparing staff schedules, performing payroll tasks, requesting and allocating resources.
  • Facilitating coordination of care/services to meet patient care and operation requirements.
  • Developing, recommending and applying internal standards, policies and procedures to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of patient care.
  • Assisting with selecting, supervising and evaluating nursing and clinical support personnel.
  • Creating and implementing staff education/development programs.
  • Leading and participating in hospital, departmental and multidisciplinary programs, committees and special projects.
  • 30hrs overnights; preferably 3 – 10 hour shifts (but can be flexible) and participate in on-call

To qualify, you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Completed, enrolled or plan to enroll into a Master’s program within the next year preferred.
  • Five+ years of nursing experience, including pediatric ED experience. (BCH ED experience strongly preferred).
  • Managerial/supervisory experience, preferred.
  • The analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experienced-based knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills in order to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, or well-developed writing skills.
