This Call Center Dispatcher will be responsible for:

  • Responding to requests for direct dial numbers, department numbers, physician on‑call status and department functions utilizing an automated computerized system.
  • Handling special and priority calls such as medical emergency, code alerts, and time sensitive calls from the general public, patients, medical personnel and other Hospital’s clients.
  • Updating data base and customer profiles to reflect the most current contact information of essential medical and non‑medical personnel.
  • Assisting in the training and orientation of new and less experienced representatives.
  • Preparing, coding, and processing a variety of transmittals to include directory changes, loaner pagers, pager cap code changes and repairs for use by staff.
  • Informing supervisor of service issues and assisting in contacting correct vendor in order to facilitate resolution/repair to telecommunications facilities.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of client information.
  • Providing positive and effective customer service that supports departmental and hospital operations.

To qualify, you must have:

  • A high school level of education and six to twelve months of previous experience.
  • Excellent computer skills; must be able to type at least 30wpm.
  • The ability to spell and pronounce basic words, names and basic medical terminology.
  • The ability to gather and interpret information or problems in a high volume medical call center.
  • The ability to exchange information, greet visitors, explain hospital policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel.
  • The ability to be courteous when dealing with patients, visitors and/or hospital employees.

Schedule : Every Other Weekend 3p-11:30p + Every other Holiday
