This position supports various functions with high visibility across the organization. The Program Coordinator II will be part of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO), an internal consulting resource that partners with senior leaders and the front line to bring strategic priorities to life at Boston Children’s. This position will provide dual program coordination as well as administrative support for the Enterprise Project Management Office. The Program Coordinator II plans and organizes work to comply with established priorities and deadlines. The role will be a critical part of internal operations, administer the lean six sigma training program that the EPMO offers to Boston Children’s employees, and may provide coordination support to other program offerings.

The Program Coordinator II shall be responsible for:

  1. Coordinating activities and daily operations of a program, assisting in the development of new or revising program goals and objectives.
  2. Preparing or assisting in the preparation of proposal for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
  3. Conferring with and advising staff and others to provide technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers to questions and program goals; referring to appropriate department person when unable to respond.
  4. Preparing periodic reports and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.
  5. Evaluating program effectiveness to develop improved methods.
  6. Reviewing applications or other program documents independently or in conjunction with supervisor to determine acceptance or make decisions pertaining to program.
  7. Assisting in the coordination of recruitment efforts, assisting with written communication and promotional literature.
  8. Planning workshops, meetings or conferences; coordinating logistics, scheduling and participant communications. Interacting and maintaining liaison with staff, faculty and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to command respect from others
  • Conflict resolution skills to facilitate positive interactions with the organization
  • Organizational skills to effectively organize workload, manage time and resources and schedule and prioritize projects.
  • Independent Thinking skills to provide persistence and determination in the execution of the position requirements.
