The HIM MPI and Data Quality Operations Manager will be responsible for:
- Ensuring data integrity of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and legacy systems by monitoring, measuring, and reporting on documentation created by healthcare providers.
- Participating in and escalating the resolution of issues related to documentation error corrections, patient overlay identity, duplicate medical record number resolution, and interface issues to maintain the integrity of each medical record and the Enterprise Master Patient Indexes.
- Overseeing chart corrections in the EMR, legacy, and downstream systems, including MPI, amendments, documentation analysis, deficiency and suspension processes, EMR advisories and flags, Epic work queues management and completion, transcription documents, and workflows. Providing guidance for electronic system enhancements and collaborating with the BCH IT Team on issues, support, and improvements.
- Implementing and managing new or revised medical record documents (both paper and electronic), presenting documents to the HIM Committee, and providing feedback and recommendations to departments on their document revisions.
- Developing workflows for departments requesting new or revised forms, and assisting staff with formatting documents, adding text, and including images.
- Collaborating with the IT team on the electronic build of paper medical records documents, electronic interfaces, and evaluating options to streamline workflows.
- Working closely with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure new or revised medical record documents comply with regulations and state/federal laws.
To qualify you must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in the field of health information management is required
- Current registration as a Registered Health Information Administrator RHIA or equivalent is preferred
- 8 years of experience including management experience is required
