The project specialist role works closely with members of the Center for Educational Excellence and Innovation (CEEI) team on various continuing education projects and activities. Provides project management for community based courses including Advances in Pediatrics, Frontiers in Pediatric Surgery, community summits (4 annually), Pediatric Healthcare Summit presented by Boston Children’s Hospital, Bradley Hospital, and Hasbro Children’s Hospital, and Empowering Pediatric Providers: New York Pediatric Advances by Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Children’s Health Physicians. Provides support for required annual accreditation reporting, PARS, and monthly reporting requirements in PARS to submit MOC II credits for physicians. Provides support with Smartsheet processes including course dashboards, notes, and support documentation. Supports training and implementation of new and repeat courses by project managing the application process including review, and approval process. Tracks course progress and escalates issues as needed to meet deadlines associated with each course.

The Health Affairs Project Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with team members, supporting one or more projects/programs by organizing all project information.
  • Tracking program/project progress and updating project dashboards. Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on the progress of projects. Supporting projects and programs, escalating issues as needed to meet deadlines and goals.
  • Effectively supporting cross-functional meetings of all sizes to facilitate successful collaboration and building consensus with others of different skill sets, backgrounds, and levels of experience.
  • Liaising with department and other BCH staff and external partners.
To qualify you must have:
  • Associate’s Degree is required
  • One year of experience in healthcare operations, project coordination or project management.
  • Experience working in a hospital and/or healthcare management, clinical research setting is preferred
  • Knowledge of clinical concepts, terminology, workflows, preferably in pediatrics or child services
  • Intermediate proficiency in Smartsheet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of project management software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills including an ability to understand and explain complex concepts including presentations of a body of work to key partners and stakeholders, orally, in writing and in presentations.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic setting and to apply available tools, experience and knowledge to develop and implement flexible processes and solutions for routine and ad hoc tasks.
  • Ability to function in a dynamic environment subject to changes in schedules and priorities
