- Performs routine repairs on a broad range of electromechanical medical equipment using basic test equipment and repair tools. Prepares and maintains related documentation.
- Performs preventative maintenance testing of routine electromechanical medical equipment according to established procedures.
- Understands medical device regulations and ensures assigned medical devices are managed in compliance with those regulations.
- Participates in inspection tours of clinical and/or research areas using medical equipment.
- Documents all service actions and complies with documentation guidelines and metrics defined in department policy.
- Builds and maintains customer relationships and independently manages clinical resource area(s).
- Acts as a technical resource for clinical customer base. Consults and collaborates with peers to resolve outstanding issues.
- Provides excellent customer service, defining problems, developing solutions, and performing follow-up. Keeps customers apprised of statuses and estimated completion dates.
To qualify, you must have:
- Associate’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 2 years of related work experience may substitute for minimum educational requirement.
- Ability to use analytical skills to troubleshoot electromechanical devices.
- Ability to adhere to processes, policies, and procedures by leveraging internal and external technical resources to understand and complete device maintenance procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to provide effective customer service.
- Ability to meet priorities within set timeframes.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
