This is internship for a highly motivated individual to participate in the development and testing of biomaterials for drug delivery. Responsibilities will include the formulation and characterization of small molecule/polymeric material and may involve evaluating the formulations in biological assays. The ideal candidate will possess excellent time-management, communication and inter-personal skills, and have meticulous attention to detail. Awareness of basic safety issues is expected, as is the ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
The candidate will:
1. Follow prescribed protocols and assigned schedules, performs a variety of routine laboratory experiments and procedures, utilizing standard laboratory equipment, recording and checking results for completeness and accuracy.
2. Assists in troubleshooting procedures if experimental results are unexpected or quality of specimens is poor.
3. Perform the following techniques typically required for laboratory/study including:
b. Maintains equipment, lab area and supplies in a neat professional manner.
c. Sterilize and clean glassware, prepare media and other materials using appropriate procedures.
d. Carries out all laboratory activities in compliance with applicable regulations and protocols.
