We are seeking a full time Orthopedics social worker for our Waltham location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to understand patients’ mental health conditions, social situations, history, and needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, ensuring continuity of care.
- Provide individual counseling to help patients manage and overcome mental health challenges.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, community resources, and other support networks to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health issues and coping strategies, providing ongoing support.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, psychologists, physician assistants, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- A master’s degree in social work
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of social work experience
- Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment is essential.
- Strong clinical skills and experience with various therapeutic modalities
- Previous pediatric medical social work experience is preferred; ortho experience a plus

Licensure/Certifications:
- LICSW in the state of MA
