Position Summary:

In accordance with established standards, policies and procedures, installs, inspects, tests, repairs and replaces equipment, fixtures and controls for air heating, cooling, ventilation and recirculation throughout the hospital. Applies experienced based knowledge/skills in the completion of more complex tasks/assignments and assumes designated leadership responsibilities in absence of Supervisor and Group Leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responding to routine and emergency service requests via online work order, radio dispatch or as assigned by Group Leader/Supervisor.
  • Assisting Group Leader/Supervisor in preparing specifications and drawings and planning installation sequence for complex projects. In absence of Group Leader/Supervisor, organizes, prioritizes and delegates service requests and completion of scheduled preventive maintenance on assigned shift.
  • Communicating with customer departments as needed to clarify job specifications and minimize any disruption of department services/operations.
  • Maintaining technical knowledge and skills through attendance at in service and continuing education programs and participation in other related activities.
  • Providing guidance and serves as a resource for department personnel on systems, technology and procedures related to area(s) of responsibility.
  • Contributing to teamwork.

Minimum Qualification:

  • A high school Diploma/GED and up to 1 year of basic technical training and one year experience required.

Experience:

  • 1 year of experience required
  • 3 years of facilities experience preferred.

Shift/hours:

  • Tuesday – Saturday: 3:00m – 11:00pm
