We are seeking a Research Project Manager to oversee and coordinate two quality improvement research initiatives focused on integrating AI-based technologies into clinical documentation within pediatric outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital settings. This role requires a candidate with exceptional organizational skills and an understanding of clinical documentation efficiency. Experience in computer science or artificial intelligence is a plus, as is prior clinical or clinical research experience. The Research Project Manager will work closely with inpatient and outpatient pediatric providers to facilitate the implementation and evaluation of AI-driven interventions. This is a one-year position with the potential to extend pending ongoing funding support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees research projects focused on integrating AI-based tools into clinical documentation, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met on time.
- Identify and use appropriate project management tools (scope management, planning, budget management, risk management, communications management). Develops and executes a work plan.
- Oversees data collection, documentation workflows, and outcome measures related to clinical documentation efficiency. Supports data-driven decision-making to optimize AI tool integration including collaborating with developers to improve usability.
- May conduct and/or support complex qualitative and quantitative analysis of project data, summarize findings, draw appropriate conclusions, and effectively communicate results to team. Manages and directs regulatory/reporting activities related to projects (e.g., IRB, updates/reports to funding agencies, etc.).
- Manages written and verbal communication with key project stakeholders and assists in manuscript preparation and dissemination of research findings to relevant audiences.
- Serves as the primary liaison between research teams, providers, developing and providing training on the use of AI based training tools to facilitate adoption of AI-based interventions.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Management, Computer Science, Project Management or a related field is required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years related experience is required. Related experience can include Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Project Management or Clinical experience.
- One year experience managing multiple highly complex projects is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational and project management skills
- The ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and to negotiate with peer-level department heads and/or external agencies/facilities.
