Join Our Patient Access Trainee Program!
Are you passionate about helping others and eager to start a career in healthcare? Our Patient Access Trainee Program offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and valuable skills in a supportive, dynamic environment. The full-time program will run from September 2, 2025-December 19, 2025.
The trainee program prepares you for entry-level Patient Experience roles which supports the administrative operations of a clinical service and works to ensure the best possible patient experience by effectively coordinating services to patients and families.
Successful candidates will have:
- strong customer-service mindset to positive and effective customer service in a healthcare setting
- ability to use and learn computers and other technology
- organizational and time management skills
- ability and willingness to commit to the full program
- interest building a career in the healthcare industry
About the Program:

Training hours: 8:30 AM-5:00 PM, fully on-site. A typical schedule is:

8:30 AM-12:00 PM: Employer-driven training

1:00PM-5:00 PM: Continued employer-driven training or virtual instruction and time to complete assignments

Grant-Funded Opportunity: This program is designed to prepare you for a customer service support role, working directly with patients in hospitals and clinical offices.

Comprehensive Training: Benefit from on-the-job training, observations, and virtual instruction.

Earn While You Learn: Complete the paid program successfully and earn nine college credits along with a program completion certification. Paid training is $16/hour, 40 hours/week.

Mentorship and Training: Support is provided to promote successful program completion, and a Coach will work with trainees 90 days post-program to support a transition to full-time employment.

Program Support: We aim to remove barriers to full participation in the training program.
Placement locations are located in the Longwood Medical Area in Boston:

Boston Children’s Hospital, a leading pediatric medical center dedicated to improving and advancing the health and well-being of children worldwide

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a world-renowned center dedicated to cutting-edge cancer research and compassionate patient care.
Virtual Instruction:
- Participate while on your employer site and led by our education partner, Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology (FC Tech).
- Upon successful completion, earn up to 9 transferable college credits.
Program timeline:
- Department interviews: July 8-July 19, 2025
