Position Summary/Department Summary:
This full-time LICSW position is part of a vibrant, multidisciplinary team within the Division of Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. The social worker will serve a key role in the outpatient Eating Disorders Program, providing clinical care and case coordination to adolescents and young adults with eating disorder diagnoses in an integrated, fast-paced medical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting psychosocial evaluations for patients presenting with eating disorder symptoms
  • Providing ongoing individual and group therapy using evidence-based approaches
  • Supporting patients and families with intensive care coordination, service navigation, care team collaboration, resource information, referrals, and crisis intervention as needed
  • Collaborating closely with medical, nutrition, and mental health colleagues as part of a comprehensive care team
  • Participating in interdisciplinary case consultation and care coordination
  • Contributing one weekly 4-hour daytime shift to the outpatient Adolescent/Young Adult Clinic’s mental health on-call service

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Master’s degree in social work

Experience:

  • Prior clinical experience working with adolescents/young adults with eating disorders strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to provide expert clinical assessment and therapeutic care to medically and psychiatrically complex patients
  • Knowledge and experience with Massachusetts based human services and community resources
  • Excellent communication and writing skills; flexibility and capacity to thrive in a collaborative team-based environment
  • Experience in medical settings preferred
  • Bilingual/bicultural candidates encouraged to apply, Spanish fluency a plus
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model, with private space for telehealth and on-site availability at least twice per week
  • Availability to work at minimum one evening per week

Licensure/Certifications:

  • LICSW licensure in the state of MA is required
