The Speech-Language Pathologist – Outpatient Feeding & Swallowing will play a critical role in the assessment and management of pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders in the outpatient setting. Working with a diverse patient population ranging from birth to early school age, the clinician will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care, family education, and therapeutic services. This position also offers the opportunity to support program growth through feeding therapy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders for patients with complex medical diagnoses.
- Evaluate and manage patients with oropharyngeal dysphagia as part of a multidisciplinary care team.
- Perform instrumental swallowing assessments, including Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies.
- Provide family education, support, and case coordination throughout care.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation related to feeding and swallowing evaluations and treatments.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, SLPs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in and support the expansion of feeding therapy services within the outpatient program.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) (required)
- 1–3 years of clinical experience in pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders (required); strong Clinical Fellows will be considered
- Current Massachusetts state licensure to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist (required)
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within interprofessional teams in a fast-paced medical setting
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Commitment to professional education and continuous learning
- Effective oral and written communication skills
