Key Responsibilities:

  • Handles pre-analytical specimen processing including stamping in, verifying I.D., identifying tests, and evaluating specimen quality and appropriate test set up.
  • Enters and retrieves lab orders using computer systems.
  • Provides courteous and timely customer service to providers calling into the lab.
  • Performs, documents, and evaluates daily QC and follows procedure when QC is out of range.
  • Operates and maintains lab equipment such as centrifuges, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Maintains workplace in a neat and orderly fashion. Continuously monitors specimen workflow. Ensures quick response for STAT and other timed tests.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • High School diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree in science-based STEM disciplines preferred.

Experience:

  • Previous lab experience is strongly preferred but not required.

Schedule: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 7am-3:30pm including rotating weekends and holidays.
