In the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine, our health care team provides medical, gynecological, nutritional, and psychological care and counseling. Our team is made up of physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, dietitians, mental health providers, and care coordinators — all of whom specialize in the care of teenagers and young adults. In this role you will be responsible for providing clinical and academic administrative support to the STEP (Strategies for Teen Empowerment and Personal Health) clinic, our weight and lifestyle management program, the Eating Disorders (ED) program, and 3 faculty in the Division. You will communicate via phone, email, and the electronic health record ensuring all administrative and support duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate activities and daily operations of the STEP clinic, our weight and lifestyle management program, the Eating Disorders (ED) program, and some clinical faculty in the division.
- May participate in reviewing applications or relevant program documents to support decision-making regarding program acceptance and participation.
- May prepare, or assist in the preparation of, quality improvement and population management initiatives, ensuring effective communication with management.
- Plan and coordinate provider schedules, patient intake, and patient outreach, managing logistics, scheduling, and patient communications.
- Maintain interactions and liaison with staff, faculty, and outside/community agencies to facilitate the achievement of program objectives.
- Manage appointments, meetings, travel arrangements, reimbursements, and licensing and accreditation paperwork for designated faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Associates degree or equivalent experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience:
- 1 year of related work experience
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
- The ability to work with diverse internal and external constituencies.
- Experience with programs such as PubMed and RedCap Preferred
- Proficiency in Spanish preferred
