Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management Support – Coordinate enterprise-wide translation requests across all languages. Navigate high-volume workflows and multiple concurrent projects. Prepare translation documentation and gather necessary data. Track progress and assist in the preparation of internal reports. Track the volume and types of translation requests. Set priorities for tasks based on importance and urgency, including identifying high-priority documents for translation. Prepare and distribute project communication to internal and external clients. Serve as a liaison between clinical teams and translation vendors to ensure timely, high-quality translations.
  • Vendor Management Support – Under the guidance of the Business Operations Administrator, ensure translation vendors meet performance standards. Review proposals and cost estimates, projected utilization levels, and fulfillment of legal requirements. Assist in maintaining and improving process, service, and system specifications. May provide input into contract renewal process. Help ensure contracted services meet or exceed standards of compliance for all applicable accreditation and regulatory bodies and commissions.
  • Process and Quality Improvement – Collaborate with hospital interpreters to coordinate quality control of translated materials and drive continuous improvement. Help identify, develop, and implement new methods, processes, and systems to improve and facilitate the team’s work. Under the guidance of the Business Operations Administrator, streamline and enhance reporting processes and deliverables. Participate in improving organizational performance through recommending areas for improvement.
  • Localization Subject Matter Expert – Under the guidance of the Business Operations Administrator, promote localization best practices by providing education, guidance, and collaborative support throughout the organization.
  • Customer Service – Assist with translation consultations, content review, and execution across the institution. Exercise sound judgment, critical thinking, and strong communication skills. Display professionalism, flexibility, and adaptability in client interactions. Promote a culture where questions and mistakes are openly discussed and leveraged as opportunities for learning, growth, and continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • A High School diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of medical interpreting experience OR medical translating experience is required.

Licensure/ Certifications:

  • A Translation and Localization Program Certificate is required.
