Ensures quality patient experiences through the effective management and coordination of physical and human resources. Monitors all registration/scheduling/processing activities and patient satisfaction from an operational standpoint. Plans, implements and monitors operational and administrative systems to ensure department meets performance goals and targets. Responsible for the supervision of support staff; scheduling and delegating work, training and development needs, and conducting performance appraisals.
Key responsibilities
- Supervises administrative staff, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and enforcing hospital policies; conducts regular staff meetings and promotes ECES values.
- Ensures accurate and timely patient registration and billing; identifies process improvements to enhance patient experience.
- Oversees staff training on hospital systems, policies, and regulatory compliance (e.g., DPH, Joint Commission, OSHA), with a focus on documentation, coding, and billing accuracy.
- Manages space planning and clinician scheduling to optimize room utilization and operational efficiency; coordinates facility-related issues.
- Oversees supply purchasing and inventory within budget guidelines; identifies cost trends and supports cost containment.
- Promotes and monitors patient satisfaction through effective customer service and operational improvements.
- Manages daily department operations, including payroll, reporting, and compliance; supports residency/fellowship program administration.
- Participates in budget planning, monitors expenses and payroll, analyzes trends, and develops cost-saving proposals.
Minimum qualifications
Education:
- Associate’s or equivalent experience, bachelor’s degree in Business or a closely related field preferred
Experience:
- 3 years of experience
- Basic understanding of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of hospital systems, operations and managed care.
Schedule: Monday – Friday either 8-4:30 or 8:30-5. This role will be 100% onsite until fully trained.
