Position Summary / Department Summary:
Under the supervision of a licensed psychologist with specialized training in clinical neuropsychology, the Neuropsychology Technician provides direct patient care by administering and scoring psychological tests. This role supports the psychological testing process, assists with the prior-authorization process, and manages the neuropsychology clinical database. Additional responsibilities include preparing patient folders and data sheets, maintaining test supplies, and scanning neuropsychology charts for electronic storage.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage patient referrals, including processing incoming requests, triaging information, and ensuring timely review by the clinical team.

Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, maintaining accuracy in the scheduling system and balancing provider availability with patient needs.

Communicate with patients and families regarding scheduling and preparation for appointments.

Prepare paperwork for prior insurance authorization, including clinical data important for establishing medical necessity for neuropsychological assessment.

Manage web-based questionnaires/rating scales for scheduled patients, obtaining parent, patient, and teacher surveys, and uploading rating scale reports.

Administer psychological tests to patients aged 1–25 according to standardized procedures, including making behavioral observations related to motor, language, speech, social, emotional, and physical behavior, as well as problem-solving style and attention regulation.

Score psychological tests in accordance with standardized procedures for psychologist review; prepare tables with results for written reports.

Enter clinical neuropsychological data into the clinic database, ensure accurate data entry, and note anomalies or unexpected results for psychologist review.

Maintain scans of neuropsychology charts for secure electronic storage.

Maintain inventory and organization of assessment material supply cabinets, prepare order requests, and maintain par supply levels.

Maintain inventory of digital web-based assessment tools, prepare order requests, and maintain par supply levels.

Participate in clinical research as needed, including retrospective chart review, data compilation, data summaries, and drafting analyses. May assist neuropsychology staff with manuscript preparation.
Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a closely related field
