The Senior MRI Technologist performs complex MRI procedures, ensures patient safety, mentors staff, and assists with operational duties while maintaining high-quality imaging standards and departmental compliance. They also participate in training, equipment management, and leadership tasks, requiring certification, experience, and strong technical and interpersonal skills.
New hires may be eligible for a sign on bonus up to $15,000.00
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex MRI procedures on both scheduled and emergency patients, ensuring patient safety and adherence to quality control and data integrity standards.
- Train and mentor staff, fellows, residents, and students in MRI techniques and procedures to maintain high professional standards.
- Manage equipment and operations, including identifying malfunctions, assisting with inventory, quality assurance projects, and supporting daily departmental workflows.
- Provide leadership support by filling in for supervisors when needed, overseeing clinical operations, and championing new equipment or process improvements.
- Maintain patient and family relations by creating a supportive environment, explaining procedures clearly, and responding empathetically to individual patient needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Associates Degree: Allied Health required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
- 3 years of experience working as an MRI Technologist.
License/Certification:
- Preferred: Current MA Radiologic Technologist license for MRI
- MRI registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification
- BLS certification.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
