Position Summary/ Department Summary:
The Network Strategy and Business Development team supports growth initiatives, including the strategy, affiliations and programs, for Boston Children’s Hospital efforts to drive expanded Network presence and strengthen collaboration with healthcare systems in support of expanding access to specialty pediatric care. As a member of this high-performing strategy and business development team, the Sr. Associate, Network Strategy and Business Development will provide analytic, research, business planning and program management initiatives that support the development and implementation of the hospital’s growth strategy. This is a hybrid position with 1 day/week onsite in Brookline/Boston.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participating with Boston Children’s leaders, the Sr. Associate, Network Strategy and Business Development provides decision support and insights for department and service line strategy, including program planning and development. Collects, analyzes, and summarizes department and service line statistics, identifies, interprets and communicates trends and prepares recommendations to achieve specified goals and objectives. Advises management on issues and prepares analyses, as requested.
  • Collaborates with clinical and functional leaders across the enterprise to coordinate the design, implementation, and tracking of key strategic projects. Provides project management of complex initiatives, including strategy execution and other cross-functional initiatives, from the project initiation phase through successful completion.
  • Interacts and collaborates with various stakeholders from other departments to build alignment on analytical challenges and solutions and shepherd broader change management efforts.
  • Provides administrative support to existing partnerships and initiatives including joint leadership and oversight committees. Responsible for organizing and preparing related materials and coordinating follow-up activities as identified by leadership committees.
  • Collects, validates, analyzes and synthesizes internal hospital data and primary and secondary research to contribute to the development of solutions to complex strategy problems. Gathers intelligence on markets, competitors and patient dynamics through use of external market data and other resources.
  • Has a thorough understanding of healthcare markets and stakeholders and uses that understanding to apply business judgment in identifying opportunities for Boston Children’s in targeted geographies.
  • Functions as a key administrative resource for information technology projects, including coordinating and liaising with technical experts, project teams, and external stakeholders.
  • May have on-going operational responsibilities for specific aspects of Boston Children’s affiliations with other healthcare systems.
  • Supports contract management including use of a contracts management system.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Specialty Consulting, or a related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience:

  • 4 years’ experience in healthcare or related field required.
  • Previous relationship management experience preferred.
