Job Summary
The principal responsibility is to ensure the proper function and scheduled maintenance of all electrophysiological and physiological monitoring equipment in the cath lab, acting as a subject matter expert to optimize equipment use and recommend future purchases. The incumbent provides routine support and troubleshooting for technologists and medical staff, serves as a technical liaison with equipment vendors and the department of Biomedical Engineering, and assists physicians in cardiac catheterization procedures while working with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Maintain specialized pacing and electrophysiological equipment in proper working order and troubleshoot issues during their use.

  2. Act as a subject matter expert for equipment support, provide training to staff, and recommend future equipment purchases based on utilization trends.

  3. Provide technical assistance for cardiac catheterization procedures, including equipment setup, patient monitoring, and assisting physicians during procedures.

  4. Establish supportive relationships with patients and families, addressing specific needs and explaining procedures clearly.

  5. Stay updated on current trends and techniques, attend educational programs, and serve as a resource and guide for other technical staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • Associates degree in Radiologic Technology

Experience

  • 2 years of experience required

License/Certification

  • American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) BLS certification
  • MA license in Radiologic Technology
