Position Summary
Provides technical assistance and support for cardiac catheterization procedures, as directed by a physician. Prepares patient, room and equipment for procedure. Provides assistance during procedures. Monitors and orders lab supplies, troubleshoots equipment problems and provides consultation and guidance for new technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Assistance and Support in Procedures: Provide technical assistance and support during cardiac catheterization procedures, including patient preparation, room setup, equipment calibration, and assisting the physician during the procedure.

  2. Inventory Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor and maintain the inventory of standard supplies according to established procedures and par levels.

  3. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment in proper working order and identify, resolve, or report any malfunctions.

  4. Emergency Assistance: Assist physicians, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff in performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation when necessary.

  5. Data Management and Patient Interaction: Input catheterization procedure data into the computerized database, establish supportive relationships with patients and families, and incorporate specific needs into patient care. Additionally, explain procedures to patients and families and answer questions within the scope of knowledge and authority.

Minimum Requirements
Education

  • High School /GED and up to one year of basic technical training in an Allied Health field

Experience

  • 1-2 years of previous experience
