Department Summary

Dr. Leyla Yavuz Saricay is a clinician-scientist in the Department of Ophthalmology at Boston Children’s Hospital whose work focuses on pediatric corneal and ocular surface disorders. Her research and clinical efforts aim to better understand and treat conditions such as limbal stem cell deficiency, neurotrophic keratopathy, and corneal nerve dysfunction. The team uses advanced imaging techniques—including in vivo confocal microscopy and anterior segment OCT—to study corneal structure and disease mechanisms.

This per diem position, approximately 3 hours per week, will support Dr. Yavuz Saricay’s ongoing clinical and translational research activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain study data in accordance with research protocols and institutional guidelines.
  • Conduct chart reviews to gather relevant clinical information for ongoing studies.
  • Participate in study discussions and contribute to planning and progress review meetings.
  • Communicate with study monitors, sponsors, or company representatives as needed to support study operations.
  • Attend regular lab and research team meetings to review study updates, timelines, and milestones.
  • Assist with general research coordination and documentation related to pediatric corneal and ocular surface studies.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Experience:

  • Analytical skills to gather and interpret data, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and writing skills to provide critical information to team members and escalate concerns to appropriate leadership.
  • Problem-solving, troubleshooting abilities and resourcefulness.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
