Position Summary:
The Pricing Analyst I will assist in assessing data from a variety of sources which is used to derive insights into pricing strategies and market trends. The Pricing Analyst will use a number of quantitative and qualitative methods to analyze competitor pricing, assess market share and margins, and track customer engagement in order to gain a complete picture of effective pricing strategies for BCH’s offerings. The PA I will assist with monitoring the hospital Charge Description Master (CDM), ensuring accuracy of the current CDM in addition to performing ongoing financial analytics relating to any changes made to billing, pricing, etc. This is a remote position, and will require work hours between 8:00a – 5:00p Eastern.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collects data and implements pricing of programs and services consistent with the hospital’s pricing policy. Assists in developing new charge codes for services requested throughout the hospital. Coordinates necessary system changes as a result of new/revised pricing.
  • Conducts monthly review and reconciliation of supply costs that will result in Quarterly/Annual pricing updates for supplies on the CDM.
  • Assists in compiling financial analytics for mid-year and annual pricing changes. Provides ad-hoc analyses and ongoing reporting supporting pricing changes.
  • Assists in updating the hospital charge master as required for all of the yearly updates of all changes required for the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes.
  • Identifies and analyzes charge inconsistencies and recommends solutions to Supervisor.
  • Reviews CMS quarterly updates to ensure the CDM is compliant with quarterly changes. Communicates updates to departments and Patient Financial Services.
  • Attends educational seminars to stay current on pricing, reimbursement, billing and coding issues

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field required.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of related experience in financial analysis, preferably in a Healthcare setting.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
