The Executive Director for Business Development – Latin America Region at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) will develop and maintain strategic relationships with administrative and clinical leaders at leading hospitals, insurance companies, and third-party vendors throughout Latin America.
This role drives revenue growth and patient volumes by promoting BCH clinical services and non-clinical offerings, including educational programs, consulting services, and strategic ventures. The Executive Director will develop and implement regional business strategies, engage opinion leaders and payors in the U.S. and Latin America, and follow up on leads to create proposals for projects and partnerships.
Reporting to the Vice President of Global Alliances, the Executive Director represents BCH externally, hosts and coordinates visits by foreign leaders and executives, and ensures professionalism in all interactions. Frequent travel (50%+) is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with hospital leaders, physicians, opinion leaders, global insurers, and TPAs to generate leads, referrals, and patient volume. Develop and implement sales plans as needed.
- Partner with leadership to execute market-specific business strategies aligned with BCH’s global strategy, maintaining a robust short- and long-term pipeline from early lead to deal closure.
- Identify opportunities and develop proposals for hospitals interested in BCH consulting, educational services, or new ventures.
- Identify opportunities for CME programs, networking events, and conferences to connect BCH physicians with referring physicians in the region.
- Analyze market opportunities and provide strategic recommendations to leadership; participate in team meetings, special projects, and BCH initiatives.
- Host and support visiting foreign opinion leaders and executives as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in international business development, including 5+ years in healthcare business development in the Latin American market.
- Proven success in business development, partnership management, or sales in healthcare, academic, or consulting sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior healthcare executives, opinion leaders, and institutional partners.
- Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) required.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of executing complex initiatives.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; proven ability to deliver superior customer engagement.
- Deep understanding of multicultural business environments and hospital administration in Latin America.
- Strategic thinker and proactive leader capable of working independently and collaboratively within a global team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
