The Waltham Pediatric Inpatient Unit is an 11 bed Surgical Unit, with a typical length of stay of 24 to 72 hours.
Key responsibilities:
- Caring for post-operative patients. Age range infants to young adults. Specialties include: Orthopedics/Sports Medicine, ORL, Urology, Plastics, Ophthalmology.
- Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating for a complex patient population.
- Attending to the full range of human experiences and responses to health and illness, without restriction, to a problem-focus orientation; integrating objective data with knowledge gained from an understanding of the patients or group’s subjective experiences.
- Applying scientific knowledge to the process of diagnosis and treatment.
- Providing a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing.
- Collaborating with the clinical coordinator, assisting in the coordination of patient care services for area(s) of responsibility.
- Working per diem (4 shifts in 6 weeks) with night/weekend rotation.
Minimum qualifications:
Education:
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years inpatient acute pediatric experience preferred.
License/Certification:
- PALS certification.
Please note: During a public health emergency, individuals in this role may be expected to take on additional duties to respond to organizational needs.
The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.
